Protect your space

What bothers you on your terrace?

Why wooden louvres

A natural material at the lowest price

All-wood louvres are for anyone who wants real wood on their terrace and does not mind a little maintenance every few years.

◆

Real wood, not a decor

Both the frame and the louvres are made of visual-grade spruce. You can see the grain, and the surface finish keeps the material stable.

◫

Frames made of glued laminated BSH timber

We make the louvres from thoroughly dried spruce. The frames are made of BSH beams – glued laminated, dried spruce. Gluing in layers means the frame does not warp or crack, which is essential for the rotation system to run smoothly.

⇅

Louvres are inserted, not screwed

Each louvre is simply inserted into the rotation system. It is not drilled, so the wood structure stays intact and there is no hole where water could get in.

☼

Wood that does not stand on the paving

The frame stands on adjustable feet with a range of 1 to 5 cm. They level out the slope of the terrace and keep the wood off the ground, so it does not soak up moisture from below.

Flexible shading

Ordinary shading has one position. Ours has infinitely many.

With ordinary shading, the louvre angle or position is fixed in advance. Our solution lets you tilt the louvres from 0° to 140° – keep them fully closed for complete privacy or set them to exactly the angle you want.

  • Protection from sun, wind and rain
  • Privacy on your terrace, gazebo or balcony
  • Fixed, pivoting and sliding frame options

Sliding systems

Frames that slide

A frame does not have to stay in one place all season. The sliding version lets you move the shade to wherever you need it – and when you do not, simply slide the frames together and the view is clear. Sliding frames can also serve as a passage off the terrace or to the stairs. We offer two versions: a top guide or a bottom guide.

Top-hung guide

The frame hangs from the top profile and slides to one side. It is guided by a concealed pin at the edge of the frame, so the passage is step-free and the guide is not visible. For stability and smooth running, the maximum louvre width with a top guide is 1.2 m.

  • Maximum frame width 1.2 m
  • Concealed pin – the guide is not visible
  • Slides to one side
  • Suitable for balconies and smaller bays

Bottom guide

The frames are guided at the top and bottom, so wider frames can be made and several frames can slide to either side – left or right, depending on what you want open at the moment. An interesting option is two rows of rails one behind the other: the frames then slide behind each other and open up the whole area.

  • Maximum frame width: wood 1.5 m · aluminium 2 m
  • Slides left and right
  • Two rows of rails open up the whole area

The way to your new terrace

From the first design to the finished installation

Depending on the season, it is finished within 4 to 10 weeks – at the lower end out of season, at the upper end in spring and summer.

FAQ

All about wooden louvres

Answers to the questions we are asked most often.

What is the difference between classic and interlocking louvres?
With classic louvres, each louvre partly overlaps the next when closed, creating a cascade effect. An interlocking louvre has a rebate – when fully closed, the louvres fit into each other and form an almost flat surface without gaps. We make classic louvres up to 1.5 m; we recommend interlocking louvres up to 1 m.
Which frame profile is better for me – 80 × 80 or 80 × 40 mm?
We use the 80 × 80 mm profile for sliding frames or free-standing frames. The 80 × 40 mm profile is used for frames placed side by side – where they join, the frames have a narrower profile. A frame can also be hybrid, with one leg 80 mm and the other 40 mm; we use it for frames standing next to sliding ones. We will be happy to help you choose the frame profile.
Why do you use BSH beams for the frames?
A glued laminated BSH beam is more dimensionally stable than ordinary solid wood. Layering and gluing mean it does not warp or crack – which is essential for the rotation system to run precisely.
How often does the wood need painting?
It varies with the weather conditions. The coating manufacturer recommends a new coat once every 3 – 5 years. No sanding is needed – just clean the surface and apply a coat of wood stain.
Won't the wood get damp from the paving?
No. The frame stands on adjustable feet of 1–5 cm, so it does not touch the floor and does not soak up moisture from below. This is standard on every wooden frame, not an extra.
Are the louvres screwed on?
No. The louvre is simply inserted into the rotation system – it is not drilled and nothing cuts into it. The wood structure stays intact, so the louvre lasts longer.
How much does it cost?
A frame 1 m wide and 2 m high starts at €378 excluding VAT and installation. We will send you the exact price in a quote once you send us your dimensions.
What is the warranty?
Two years as standard.
